Kate LaGarde
Vice President, Talent Operations
Kate is Vice President of Talent Operations at Wavecrest Growth Partners and joined the firm in August of 2025. She’s spent her career working with growth stage technology companies to operationalize and scale their Talent and HR practices. Most recently, Kate was the VP of People at Device42 – a leading IT asset management company which was acquired by Freshworks in June of 2024. Previously, she led global recruiting efforts for CloudHealth Technologies through its acquisition by VMWare in 2018. She also worked at Boston based VC Firm, OpenView Venture Partners, hiring into the portfolio and advising on recruitment best practices.
Kate received a B.A. in Advertising from Suffolk University.

What do you like to do in your spare time (not that you have much)?
One of my favorite things about living in NYC is unlimited access to live music and theatre. I’m lucky enough to (sometimes) convince friends to join me but I’m just as happy venturing out on my own.
What is your “go-to” comfort food?
Portuguese Sweet Bread. My mother is from the Açores and my hometown has a huge Portuguese population so if I can’t get my Vavó’s homemade (which is the best), Lou’s Bakery in Fall River does the trick.
If you could spend a month in any city, where would you go?
Anywhere in France. Good food, good wine, extra croissants.
