Sam Baughan is an Associate at Wavecrest Growth Partners and joined the firm in July 2022. Prior to Wavecrest, Sam worked at LLR Partners where he built strategic sourcing and value creation technology initiatives. Prior to LLR, Sam worked at Capital One, completing the Management Rotation Program where he was mostly focused on small business card customer management.
Sam received a B.A. in Economics from the University of Virginia.

Where did you grow up?
Winston Salem, North Carolina. Although my roots and extended family are mostly from New England.
What’s a hidden talent or skill you have that people wouldn’t guess about you OR growing up, what’s something you excelled at?
I am a skilled and fearless big mountain skier. Competition has been pretty natural for me as the middle child of 3 boys, and I am a bit of an adrenaline junkie. I enjoy backcountry skiing and water skiing as well but the opportunities to do those are more limited.
The best piece of advice I’ve ever been given is:
How you do anything is how you do everything. Sometimes it is the small things that end up making all the difference.
